Orthodontic Assistant - Monroe Office

We're seeking to hire an Orthodontic Assistant to join our team at the Monroe location. This position requires at least one year of hands-on orthodontic dental assisting experience (please note: internships and job shadowing do not count toward this requirement).

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (DA I/II)

• CPR and X-ray certified

• Minimum of one year of orthodontic assisting experience preferred

• Proficient in four-handed dentistry with the ability to anticipate doctor needs

• Experience with digital radiography and orthodontic software (Ortho2 or similar)

• Strong understanding of dental instruments, terminology, and clinical protocols

• Excellent multitasking and time management skills

• Organized, detail-oriented, and efficient

• Positive attitude with a team-driven mindset

• Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with patients and parents

Key Responsibilities

• Take comprehensive orthodontic records, including digital photos, panoramic and cephalometric X-rays, and impressions or scans

• Assist with Invisalign impressions/bite registrations and orthodontic adjustments (archwires, ties, chains, coils)

• Support the doctor during bonding and debonding procedures

• Fit molar bands and take impressions for appliances (retainers, expanders, space maintainers)

• Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene, elastic wear, and retainer care

• Maintain clean, organized treatment areas

• Assist with lab work and equipment maintenance

• Manage patient flow to ensure appointments run smoothly and efficiently
